Renowned Names in Indian Literature 

Lakshminath Bezbaruwa

 He is considered a key figure in modern Assamese literature, often called the "father of the Assamese short story". He founded the influential literary monthly 'Jōnāki' in 1889, which was responsible for infusing Assamese letters with 19th-century Romanticism.
