 Happy Holi!!

A Poem


In tranquil days of early childhood,

Sibling and I played joyfully,

Fun games of  Colour Fest -Holi,

With our friends in Pragathi Vihar -New Delhi,

Unlimited fun with 'gubbaras' and 'pitchkaris',

Small water balloons filled with myriad colours,

 Colour water sprays and sprinklers,

Taking by surprise and shock,

The unsuspecting passersby,

By the colours thrown on them,

Watching with impish joy,

The look of chagrin on their faces,

Filling our young and carefree vagabond hearts,

With scintillating happy ecstasies,

Today on Holi,

My mind is filled with happy memories.

Of those mostly happy, carefree, delightful days,

Days filled with simplicity, love and laughter,

Ours was quite a happy home till later,

The yellowing days are mellowing,

Some days are more unforgettable than others,

Like today,

So, wishing one and all,

HAPPY HOLI, today!

  Dr. S. Padmapriya My Identity(என் அடையாளம் )as an Academician and Writer(கல்வியாளர் மற்றும் எழுத்தாளர்)]    Dr.S.Padmapriya was born in Tamilnadu in India in 1982.  Dr.S.Padmapriya holds a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Economics from the University of Madras. She also passed the University Grants Commission's Junior Research Fellowship and National Eligibility Test exam at age 22. She secured The University of Madras's Second Rank in her graduation subject of Economics in 2002. She has been an academician, administrator and researcher.  பசும்பொன் முத்துராமலிங்க தேவர் ஐய்யா ஆசிரியரும் சிந்தனையாளருமான டாக்டர் எஸ். பத்மப்ரியா, சென்னை    திரு. உக்கிரபாண்டி முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவர் 1908 ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 30 ஆம் தேதி இந்தியாவில் ஆங்கிலேயர் ஆட்சியின் கீழ் இருந்த சென்னை மாகாணத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இருந்த ராம்நாடு மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள பசும்பொன் என்ற இடத்தில் பிறந்தார். முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவரின் தந்தை மனைவி இறந்த பிறகு மறுமணம் செய்து கொண்டார். முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவரின் தந்தையின் இரண்டாவது மனைவி இறந்த சிறிது நேரத்திலேயே இரண்டு புதிய மனைவிகளை எடுத்துக்கொண்டதற்காக அவரது தாய்வழிப் பாட்டி பார்வதியம்மாள் அவரது தந்தை மீது கோபமும் அதிருப்தியும் கொண்டிருந்தார். பார்வதியம்மாள் உக்கிரபாண்டியை பல ஆண்டுகளாக கவனித்து வந்தார். பாட்டி - பேரன் இருவரும் கல்லுப்பட்டியில் வசித்து வந்தனர்.  முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவரின் பள்ளிப் படிப்பை ஒழுங்குபடுத்தும் பொறுப்பை அவரது தந்தையின் நெருங்கிய குடும்ப நண்பரான குழந்தைசாமி பிள்ளை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார். ஆரம்பத்தில், அவருக்கு ஒரு தனியார் கல்வி வழங்கப்பட்டது, ஜூன் 1917 இல் அவர் அமெரிக்க மிஷனரிகளால் நடத்தப்படு...
